2025 Litters

Current Litters

K litter: House of Kahn Tiberius + White Rose Rattery Avery (Sprite)

DOB: 30/05/25
5 babies born (2 died at less than a week old)
Black self

My plan was for Sprite (White Rose Rattery Avery) to have a markings line litter for her second lot of babies but, because I got my markings boy – splitcap Ghost – in her first litter I’ve already ticked that markings off the wish list. I thought I’d pair her with Tiberius, another fluffy, this time around so I can keep another fluff carrier baby to use for my fluffy line. I’m expecting these little ones to be really cool like their parents – full of fun and mischief and hopefully with great longevity and health.

Tiberius is my larger than life boy. He’s bouncy and agile quite unlike his more typically lazy fluff cage mates. He definitely takes after the much more active Kahnite side of his family – NZ’s oldest rat line, bred by House of Kahn specifically for longevity and great health. He did a great job getting 3 girls pregnant in the space of a week and still looks and acts like a young rat. I have all fingers crossed that his babies will be a robust and healthy as he is.

K litter: House of Kahn Tiberius + Misty’s Mischief Mimosa (Djinn)

DOB: 30/05/25
5 babies born (2 died at less than a week old)
Black self

Djinn (Misty’s Mischief Rattery‘s Mimosa) was only with Tiberius for 4 days becasue I changed my mind about doing this litter but she still manged to get pregnant! She had just a small litter of 5 babies and unfortuantely lost 2 of them in the first few days. Dispite the wobbly start she’s a great mum, very attentive and the babies are always full to the brim with milk – lots to go round with a small litter like this!

Past Litters

K litter: Interstellar Frank + Misty’s Mischief Mimosa (Djinn)

DOB: 11/03/25
11 babies born (5 girls, 6 boys)
Dove and Argente (fluffy and carrier)

Interstellar Rattery‘s Frank came up from Wellington and has my 2021 ‘V’ litter on both sides of his family which means he’s a direct descendant of my very first fluffy line litter in 2017! He has so many awesome rats in his pedigree – Dio and Rus, both the snuggliest lumps you could ever meet; Cricket, one of my very favourite girls; and Rufio, my first stud boy who got to over 3 years old. Frank has a great coat and the chunky fluff head I want to select for so I’m hoping he will make awesome babies.

Djinn (Misty’s Mischief Rattery‘s Mimosa) is a champagne self – a bit of a homebody but a sweet little girl who’s a very attentive, kind mum. She has a diverse pedigree including rats from 9 different ratteries within the last 5 generations. Some ancestors I’m excited to keep in my line include a couple of Shiloh’s Rattery rats, some of my favourites from House of Kahn (Tinker, Egg, and Charon) and some lovelies I bred (Quill, Jenner, Gouda, and Cricket).

L Litter: Interstellar Frank + White Rose Rattery Avery (Sprite)

12 babies born (4 girls, 8 boys)
Agouti and black hoods and berkshire

Sprite/ White Rose Rattery Avery is a very pretty variberk. She is super fun, full of spark and smarts. I really really like her, she’s definitely one of my favourites out of all the girls I’ve had. While I’ll mostly be focusing on breeding fluffy rats, I’m hoping to do a few markings line litters per year to keep my old markings family going. My plans for Sprite are this one ‘fluffy outcross’ litter with Frank, and then I’ll pair her to a markings line boy in the hopes of making more gorgeous variberks like her.
